Terms for using GeoDigg

Agreement

By using GeoDigg you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Notice. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

News and sources

GeoDigg organizes reports from news publishers, public agencies, data feeds and its community. Each report keeps its original source. GeoDigg shows headlines and short summaries and links to the original; the original publisher owns its reporting.

Local events change quickly. Information on GeoDigg may be incomplete, out of date, disputed or wrong. Labels such as Reported, Developing, Confirmed or Disputed describe what the sources say, not a guarantee. GeoDigg is not an emergency service: in an emergency, contact local authorities and follow official instructions.

Places and location

GeoDigg places each story at the most precise level its sources support: sometimes a city, sometimes only a county or state. A story shown in a place is not proof that it happened at an exact spot there.

Accounts and community features

Signing in uses your SpiderTaz Network account. You are responsible for activity under your account.

When you post a community report or photo, you must post only what you have the right to share, label what you saw yourself honestly, and avoid rumors presented as fact, impersonation, harassment, spam, private information about others, and unlawful, deceptive or infringing content. Post only photos you took or have permission to share. Digs, popularity and the Rising and Hot views never verify a story.

A new member's first three reports are reviewed before they appear. Members may report a problem with any story or post; several problem reports send a post back for review. Posting and digging are limited per hour to prevent spam.

You keep any rights you have in what you post, and you grant GeoDigg a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, review, edit for safety or length, publish, display and use it to operate GeoDigg and the SpiderTaz Network. GeoDigg may correct labels, merge or separate events, hide, generalize a location, or remove content, and keeps a history of those decisions.

Acceptable use

Do not use GeoDigg to harass, defame, spam, manipulate votes or rankings, scrape in bulk, attack or overload the site, bypass security, upload malware, violate privacy or promote fraud. GeoDigg may block access, remove content, preserve evidence or report activity to protect the site and others.

SpiderTaz Network, promotion and external links

GeoDigg is part of the SpiderTaz Network and links to network sites, news publishers and other resources. Promoted or sponsored placements, where they appear, are labeled and never change how stories are verified. External sites are run by their own operators under their own terms and policies; GeoDigg is not responsible for them.

Intellectual property

GeoDigg branding, design, code, text and other original materials are protected by intellectual property laws unless otherwise stated. Source headlines and summaries belong to their publishers. You may link to public pages and quote short excerpts with attribution. You may not copy the site, mass-scrape its data, or republish it as your own.

Changes to the site

GeoDigg may add, change, redirect, suspend or remove pages, features, stories or policies at any time. The site may be unavailable during maintenance, errors or outages.

Disclaimer of warranties

GeoDigg is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, timeliness, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability or security.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, GeoDigg and its owners, operators, contributors, partners and affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data or business interruption arising from use of the site, its stories or linked resources, including decisions made based on information shown on GeoDigg.

Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold GeoDigg and its owners, operators, contributors, partners and affiliates harmless from claims, losses and costs connected to your use of the site, your posts, your violation of these Terms or your violation of another person's rights.

Updates and contact

GeoDigg may update these Terms. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms; the date above shows the latest revision.
